Inspection Workflow
autoGMS supports three inspection stages. They are designed to match the way a garage receives a vehicle, checks it before work starts, and signs it off before completion.
The Three Inspection Stages
| Stage | When it happens | What it is for |

| Vehicle Check-In | When the vehicle arrives | Record the vehicle condition at arrival before work starts. |
| Pre-Work Inspection | Before or during service | Capture photos, videos, odometer reading, and a vehicle checklist. This can be shared with the customer. |
| Final Quality Check | Before the job is completed | Confirm the job has passed the workshop's final sign-off. |
What Each Setting Controls
Go to Booking Settings and open Inspection Workflow.

| Require vehicle check-in | Staff must record the vehicle's arrival condition before work can start. |
| Require pre-work photos | Staff must add the required vehicle photos before work can start or be completed. |
| Require pre-work checklist | Staff must complete the vehicle checklist before work can start or be completed. |
| Require final quality check | Staff must complete the final quality check before the job can be marked completed. |
Recommended Setup
For most garages, use this setup:
- Turn on Vehicle Check-In if your service advisor receives vehicles before technicians start work.
- Turn on Pre-Work Photos to protect against damage disputes.
- Turn on Pre-Work Checklist if technicians should document vehicle systems before starting work.
- Turn on Final Quality Check if a manager or senior technician must sign off before completion.
Where To Turn Them On
- Open your garage in autoGMS.
- Go to Bookings.
- Click Settings.
- Find Inspection Workflow.
- Turn on the inspection requirements your garage wants to enforce.
- Save the Booking Settings page.
The Inspection Policy section in Garage Profile is a read-only summary. Use Booking Settings to change the active requirements.
Good to know: Older organization-level pre-work inspection settings may still appear as a legacy fallback. For current workflow rules, Booking Settings is the source of truth.
